Mastering
Why is it so important to master your audio? Summed up, here it is. Mastering increases the impact and clarity of the sound. Mastering puts the final polishing on your CD, before it is released to the public. Outstanding touches on volume, song order and fade are all made here as well as some correctional touch-ups. If you go thru the trouble of recording and mixing your audio, why would you not want to finish the job?
Should you have your music mastered? That's a good question, let me answer a question with a question. Are you looking for a more professional sound in your work? Do you want your music to be up to commercial standards? Did that answer your question?
So, you already recorded your cd and didn't get it mastered yet? It's not too late, you can still have it done.
Still not convinced to get it mastered? Think of it this way. What's your next step? Duplication, duplication, duplication...right! Now, here's what happens...you save that $50-$100 per song and do not get it mastered. You figure that you're on a budget so now you can get more replications of your CD or a prettier graphic right. So you have hundreds or thousands of copies of your cd but when you put it in guess what? You have to turn some songs up and some down...the sound volume is all off. So you went thru all the hastle of recording, mixing, duplication and it still doesn't sound like the other cds you have. Why??? I'll give you one guess...mastering. So, are you now interested in getting your CD mastered?
